Janis Biggs (left) brought the precision of her career in accounting to the art of quilting. Her love of the craft grew slowly as the logic of taking big pieces of fabric, cutting them into little pieces then sewing them back together again eluded her. When she spent time with her mother-in-law in Pennsylvania making a Cathedral Window pillow, she came to appreciate the art of quilting. The desire to write had been simmering deep inside Jan since grammar school. She always thought, secretly, that she had stories to tell. Her passion for quilting merged with her desire to write when she joined the Monday Morning Book Club. Her new passion is to speak from the heart with the written word. She has been married for twenty-nine years and enjoys her stepdaughter and grandson.
Diana Forrester (middle) is a relatively new quilter, who took it up to give her hands something to do when she quit smoking six years ago. She is still learning many things from members of the Monday Morning Book Club. Her first grandchild is the love of her life. Her second love is writing and she has published many short stories in the United States and Europe. This is her first quilting book. She has been married thirty years and has four grown children.
Mary Clark (right) was born with a needle between her fingers and has been sewing ever since. She modeled her first machine-sewn dress at the age of eight. Mary currently owns Always In Stitches where there is a party going on every day. She loves fabric, quilting, pressing and the camaraderie with her fellow quilters and guild members. The quilt shop is the realization of a dream and many of the problems Caroline experiences in starting up her shop in the Guild in the Granary actually happened but we won’t tell you which ones. When she’s not quilting, Mary enjoys reading, the outdoors, and spending time with her daughter Jordann, her husband Jeff, and other members of a big extended family. |
